Keen-Agers

 Table Tennis for Life

Keen-Agers table tennis is a social and recreational table tennis program for older players being developed State-wide, with encouragement from VicHealth, COTAVIC and Table Tennis Victoria. It offers considerable benefits to participants.

Games are played in a non-competititve and stress free environment.

 Keen-agers have fun.

Keen-Agers sessions run all year round.

  • Members are mainly retirees with main age range from early 60's to late 80's.

  • Many married couples join up and play. New players are made most welcome, taught the basics and allowed to proceed at their own pace.

  • Non-competitive singles and doubles are normally played at Monday and Thursday morning sessions. Click to review a typical session at Keen-Agers

  • Cost of participation is minimal.

  • Inter-club games are occasionally organised making an enjoyable day outing to exchange with and meet new friends.

Many have experienced the recuperative benefits of the Keen-Agers recreational table tennis program after surgery, injury or illness. As well as meeting new friends and exercising, those recovering from stroke and heart ailment, arthritis or joint problems have been greatly aided in their recovery by this program.

The Keen-Agers recreational table tennis program is a growing phenomenon. Since inception, membership in newly formed clubs has increased dramatically, with more and more enjoying and benefiting from the program each week. While all our current clubs are located in Victoria, we know the concept can be transferred to any State and we invite inter-State enquiries about establishing Keen-Agers clubs. We look forward to the day when Keen-Agers touring or on holiday can enjoy common membership at Keen-agers clubs at most major population centres in Australia.

For further information, comments or questions about Keen-Agers Recreational table tennis clubs or if you are interested in a new club in your area  you can contact John Gale by email below. We would like to hear from you and will answer promptly.
